Information for your stay
A little bit of history
Domaine la Reveille (formerly "Larveilhe") is a maison de maitre from 1349. Until the French Revolution, the domain was owned by a noble family, the De La Roche Négly family. This family comes from this region, called the Velay and has lived here for at least 1000 years. First in Le Puy en Velay, later in this house. The last De la Roche Negly lived here until the beginning of the 19th century. That was Gabriel Francois, a general who fought (with "Les Chasseurs Noirs") with General Lafayette in the American War of Independence, under George Washington. In his honor, one of our rooms is called la Chambre du General.
After the French Revolution, the house fell into disrepair: the original walls were still there. Later the house was taken back into use as a residence, as a second home. Since 2005 the house has been used as a guest house.
